How to Unpack the Iwistao Cabinets for Gingko Audio’s MooVu Speakers

When you receive the Iwistao Cabinets customized for the MooVu Speaker Kit, follow the steps outlined below to preserve the box and shipping material for reuse in future shipments.

Step 1: Look for a serial number at the bottom right corner of the box. Mark this bottom with a B and the top of the box with a T.

Step 2: Carefully cut through the sealing tape to open the top flaps of the box. Do not cut so deep that you damage the contents under the flaps.

Step 3: While keeping the top flaps opened, gently flip the box upside down.

Step 4: Slowly pull the shipping box upward and away from its contents.

The packing material that surrounds the cabinets consists of three sections held together with packing tape. Mark the uppermost section with a B (for bottom).

Step 5: Carefully cut the strips of tape holding together the uppermost section and the middle section. Remove the uppermost section and lift the first cabinet (in its plastic bag) out of the packing material.

Step 6: Cut the strips of packing tape holding together the middle section and the third section. Remove the middle section and lift the second cabinet out of the remaining section of the packing material. Mark this section with a T (for top).

Step 7: Save the top and bottom sections of the packing material, along with the plastic bags that covered the cabinets, inside the shipping box for future reuse.

Removing Grill from Iwistao Cabinet

Step 8: To remove the grill from the cabinet, slide four fingers under the top edge and gently pry it up. While holding this edge about a half-inch off the cabinet, use your other hand to lift the rest of the grill by sliding four fingers along the long edge of the cabinet toward the bottom edge until the grill’s pins are dislodged from the cabinet.

Step 9: Inside one of the two cabinets is the batting material and a thin foam bag that contains the hardware (screws and rubber pads) used to assemble the speakers.

To avoid misplacing the pads, attach them to the corners of the underside of each cabinet.

Packing the Complete Speakers

In packing the completed MooVu speakers in their original box for transfer or shipment, start by putting the section of the packing material you marked with a B (in Step 4 above) at the bottom of the box. Fit one the two speakers inside the packing material, laying it horizontally, on its side. Note that the front and bottom parts of each completed speaker are heavier due to the placement of the woofers. Therefore, when you put the second speaker into the box, orient it such that its front and bottom parts are flipped relative to the first speaker. This ensures that the overall weight is evenly distributed on all sides of the shipping box and minimizes mishandling of the package due to uneven weight distribution. Lastly, insert the section of the packing material you marked with a T (in Step 6 above).
